The gold market

The market for gold is relatively liquid compared to other commodities. In addition to buying and selling through the spot market, gold is actively traded through futures and forward contracts.

Benchmark prices for gold are generally based on London market quotations. The size of both the international market and existing gold stockpiles mean that individual producers or market participants generally cannot significantly influence either the price or the total quantities traded. For the same reason, Nordgold is not dependent on any one customer as there are many potential buyers of our gold.
